Role Overview:
Key role in the design and development of the Asterius autonomous robot, representing the team at international competitions such as the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC) in Detroit. You will shape the visual identity and functional form of the robot, ensuring it meets aesthetic, mechanical, and integration requirements for cutting-edge autonomous systems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Developing initial concept sketches and high-fidelity renderings
- Creating detailed CAD models using Onshape
- Designing components and enclosures that accommodate electrical, mechanical, and software sensor requirements
- Collaborating closely with electrical and software teams to ensure design feasibility and effective integration
- Supporting prototype development and physical mock-ups
- Considering ergonomics, aesthetics, and manufacturability in all design decisions
- Attending and engaging in weekly design and team meetings
- Completing mandatory training and induction
- Committing a minimum of 10–15 hours per week to the team

- Currently studying or strong interest in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field
